Project/Contract: Design and Construction of Wadi Gaza Interim Wastewater Treatment Plant

Saqqa & Khoudary won the Design and Build contract in August, 2012. The contract includes design, engineering, construction, supply, install, commissioning and start-up of the plant based on lagoon-based treatment on a total area of 32,000 m2. The plant has a capacity of 14,000 m3/day or 240,000 PE   The works include excavation, earthworks and embankment construction for the anaerobic lagoon, aerobic lagoon, facultative lagoon. The 3 ponds were lined using HDPE geo-membrane. The works also include the inlet structure, influent metering channel, sluice gates, energy breaker, automatic and manual fine bar screens, screw compactor, aerators, by-pass system, , piping, discharge pipeline to the sea, and electrical power supply system (250KVA generator, transformer, distribution and control boards, and all required electrical connections and cabling)   The testing, commissioning and handing over of the treatment plant took place in May 2014.
